SARAPIQUI RIVER RAFTING CLASS III-IV: SAN MIGUEL SECTION
The San Miguel section of the Sarapiqui River is the most intense rafting experience available in the Arenal Volcano area. Along this 18 km journey you will find over 45 continuous Class III and IV rapids, which will inspire you to perform all kinds of maneuvers. You will feel the adrenaline and thrill that only this section can provide. Sloth, monkeys, and tropical birds are among the species found in the beautiful flora surrounding this enchanting river.
We will begin our tour by picking you up in your hotel. The drive to the river is just over an hour. Along the way our local bilingual guide will provide you with interesting information about the landscape and the region. Once at the river, a certified guide will give a thorough safety briefing including paddling commands and safety instructions. Then the real adventure begins! It is high action, high adventure, and pure concentration. Our guides and your own adrenalines will become your allies in this unforgettable adventure. About halfway through the tour, we’ll stop along the riverbanks for a colorful buffet of fresh tropical fruit, before completing the final section of these exciting and technical rapids. After completing this extreme adventure, you will have earned the delicious hot lunch that will be waiting for you in our riverside restaurant. Then we will return you to your hotel, thrilled with the adventure of the day!

Rafters should be ages 12 to 55, in good physical condition with rafting experience.
Sarapiqui River Rafting class II-III
The Sarapiqui River is ideal for those who wish to combine white water rafting with observation of the exuberant flora and fauna. This section offers many Class II and Class III rapids making it especially suitable for beginners, intermediate rafters and nature lovers. The clear refreshing waters will serpentine along through the tropical jungle and offer some great spots for swimming and Tarzan jumping off of its banks for the more adventurous. We will pick you up in your hotel in the Sarapiqui area, in San Jose, or in Arenal and arrive at the river at 10:30 am. Once we arrive a professional guide will help you into your rafting gear and give a briefing including safety precautions and paddling instructions, before the adventure begins.
Rapids with names like “Deer”, “Roller Coaster”, “Superman” and “Air Force” await you. You will also have the opportunity to swim in calm crystal pools and enjoy a delicious buffet of fresh tropical fruit right on the riverbank.
After 2 ½ fun filled hours on the river, you will have earned the delicious hot lunch that will be waiting for you at our riverside facilities. Bathrooms and changing rooms are also available. After lunch, we will head back to your hotel, or ask about extra charges to be dropped off at your next destination in order to save travelling time and money.
